Beware of Flying Trees…and Gravel…
The helicopter should be returning to The Capes sometime soon to fly out trees cut last week by Walker’s Contract Cutting. (Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the last several months, we’ve been using a helicopter to remove trees from hard-to-reach areas such as the canyon, and the hillside of Tract G in between Promontory Lane and Capes Drive. It requires much less man-power, is faster, and does significantly less damage to the remaining vegetation.)
This time, we’ve decided to multitask. The gravel path in the canyon between the hammerhead stairs and the beach stairs is the only path that did not receive a refresh in 2015 when the rest of the paths were done; it was just too costly to get all of that heavy gravel down into the canyon. Using the helicopter to fly gravel *into* the canyon while it’s flying trees *out* seemed like the perfect solution! Ground FX will be delivering the gravel on Tuesday of this week and getting it set up in grab bags so that it’s all ready to go once the helicopter is available and (say it with me now…) the weather decides to cooperate. I’m told this could happen as early as Thursday or Friday of this week, but the office will send out an update once we know for sure.
LOST: A Huge Bucket of White Paint
Owners, please check your garages! If you have borrowed the 5 gallon bucket of “Capes White” paint from the office and forgotten to return it, please do so at your earliest convenience. I’ve got a couple of owners that would like to do some touch-ups, and can’t for the life of me remember who borrowed it last. (In my defense, I suffer from CRS – Can’t Remember…Sh…uh, I mean…Stuff…)
Ice Cream Time!
Our annual Ice Cream Social is coming up at the end of this month. Please join us on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 2-4 pm at the Bridge House for a bowl (or cone) of Tillamook Creamery’s finest flavors! We supply the ice cream, bowls, cones and toppings – all you need to do is show up with your sweet tooth. See you there!
Vote, vote, vote!
If you have not yet returned your ballot for the proposed CC&R changes, please do so before May 31, 2017. Ballots were mailed out with your annual meeting packets at the beginning of April. Owners are asked to vote on 3 separate items:
- An addition to the CC&Rs regarding restrictions on commercial vehicle parking on the property
- An addition to the CC&Rs regarding owner installations of electric vehicle charging stations
- A large number of small edits to the CC&Rs, Articles of Incorporation and the Bylaws to correct scrivener’s errors and ambiguity.
All three governing documents – along with the proposed edits and additions – can be found by visiting the Governing Documents page and selecting the directory entitled “2017 Proposed Revisions for Owner Voting:
The folder contains two versions of each document – one WITH MARKUP that shows all of the changes and one with NO MARKUP showing what the final version would look like. If you need assistance with any of these documents or you would like to have paper copies mailed to you, please contact the office.
