Watch ‘Yer Step!
The office entryway is getting a new ‘do! In anticipation of the new concrete walkway being installed next week (November 4 or 5), we have removed the wood pallet path that led to the office door. As a result, that entry into the manager’s office is now an ankle-breaker. If you come to the office for a visit, please use the accessible entrance on the far side of the garage until the new walkway is complete.
How DO You DUE?
It’s that time of year again when I beg ask you to let me know if you would like to receive a tear-out payment book for your 2020 HOA dues…or if you’d rather have a statement/reminder emailed to you…or if you’re one of those independent types that don’t need no stinkin’ reminders. Whatever your preference, please take a moment now to let me know by filling out this brief form:
So far I’ve heard from 51 of you, but I know there are more of you out there! I will be placing the order for the payment books on Monday, December 9, 2019. If I haven’t heard from you before then, you may not receive a payment book. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya! [If you’re one of the 51 who has already responded, thank you! No need to respond again!]
[Please also note, the office absolutely does NOT need to have that tear-out coupon to process your dues payment. They are for your convenience only. If the only reason you like them is because they come with mailing labels, let me know, and I’ll be happy to mail you some labels!]
2020 Dues and Budget
Hold that thought! The Budget Committee has been working diligently on next year’s budget, and just wants to wait a little bit longer to get some more accurate “actuals” figures for 2019, so that we can keep the dues as close to this year’s numbers as possible. Watch your inboxes later this month for the 2020 proposed budget and dues!
Don’t Forget to Fall Behind!
Normally, that’s a bad thing, right? But not this time! Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2 am. Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour the next time you’re here at The Capes! It’s also a great time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and check the expiration dates on any emergency food supplies that you have. [I’m SURE you all have emergency supplies, just in case, right?] Take out and replace anything that will expire within the next 6 months. [If you’ve got a lot that will be expiring soon and you don’t think you’ll be able to eat it all in time, think about donating it to the local food pantry…]
To Eve or Not To Eve…
I’ve got a little bit of $$ left in my party budget for this year, Capers, so let me know if you’d be interested in either a New Year’s Eve party (December 31 is a Tuesday this year) or perhaps a general holiday party (or Festivus, if you will!) sometime in December. Last year we celebrated an “East Coast New Year’s” on December 31st where we rang in the new year with those on the other side of the country at 9 pm. November Office Closures
The office will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2019 (Veteran’s Day). It will also be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 28 and 29, 2019 for Thanksgiving. If you anticipate needing anything from the office on those days, please email the manager (manager@thecapeshoa.org) ahead of time so that arrangements can be made.
